Karen Fagelson is a retired partner in the Real Estate Group at Reed Smith LLP and from 2005-2012 was the Managing Partner for the Virginia Region of Reed Smith. Her law practice focuses on the real estate industry and she regularly represents developers, builders, investors and users of commercial real estate. Her notable projects include the Torpedo Factory, Lansdowne, the Southwest Waterfront Redevelopment, and The Society for Human Resource Management headquarters buildings. From 1999-2007, she led a team of lawyers responsible for the disposition and redevelopment of many properties owned by the National Capital Revitalization Corporation, including DCUSA and the Tivoli Theater. She graduated from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY in 1977 with a BA in Economics and from Cornell Law School in 1980. Her hobbies are skiing, biking, swimming and personal training. She is also a member of the Kennedy Center Circles Board, and the Board of Directors of The Women’s Center.
