Richard T. Kaplar has been a member of the Insight Memory Care Center Board of Directors since 2006, and currently serves as IMCC’s Treasurer and Chairman of the Administrative Committee. Rick is Vice President of The Media Institute, a nonprofit research foundation in Arlington, Va., that specializes in communications policy and First Amendment issues. He has written, edited, or produced more than 40 books and monographs on a variety of topics in the communications policy field. Rick is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, Va., and is also Chairman of the Board’s Executive Committee. He is a charter member, past president, and Board member of the Rotary Club of Tysons Corner. He is also a Board member and past president of the Rotary Club of Tysons Corner Foundation. A former U.S. Army officer, Rick holds a Bachelor’s degree in English (magna cum laude) from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and a Master’s degree in public administration from The American University in Washington, D.C. He is a native of Cleveland and has two grown sons.
