What's New at IMCC

A Message from Joel

Over the past six and a half years, I have had the privilege of leading Insight Memory Care Center through many different stages of evolution and growth. During that time, I have had the opportunity to meet some remarkable people and develop connections that will last a lifetime. But most importantly, I was able to enhance the mission and vision of Insight and allow us to reach and serve more and more people who needed our help; individuals living with the diagnosis, family members, caregivers (personal and professional), year after year.

As I leave my post as Executive Director, I look back on our achievements. Designing and building our new Pender Drive location, growing the number of people we could care for in the Center from 40 to 60 per day, obtaining deficiency free survey visits year over year (that would be seven - for those counting), launching our Early Stage Programming, enhancing our Caregiver Education series, launching our new Professional Caregiver services, diversified support groups, Person Centered Care Programming, the Caregiver Cruise, a rebrand of the organization, and so much more.

I purposely say the collective "our" because I alone did not do everything. While I set the vision and direction and while I was involved in most everything, it is the wonderful dedicated and caring team at Insight who provided these services. Leaving Insight also means leaving an amazing team who collectively is the best team with which I have had the honor of working beside.

As the Board of Directors looks towards the future, I have a great sense of excitement. From the desire to have multiple locations throughout Northern Virginia, to building even more community partnerships, I am excited about the opportunities that are sure to come. I want to personally thank everyone who has supported me and my journey as well as those who have supported Insight. I am appreciative of all the kindness and generosity that you have shown and I hope you continue to support the new Executive Director and the mission of Insight.

It has truly been an amazing journey with Insight Memory Care Center and I am honored to have been a part of it. I would be remiss if I did not close with my signature remarks, so for the last and final time: Until there's a cure, there's us (well - them!)

Sincerely,
Joel Bednoski
