Joel Bednoski, Executive Director
In addition to being a Certified Memory Impairment Specialist, Joel is also a Licensed Practical Nurse, and a Certified Virtual Dementia Tour Facilitator. His many years of executive leadership include positions at some of the most prominent residential assisted living facilities in the Washington DC area such as Arden Courts and Sunrise Senior Living. Because of his dedication to individuals with memory impairment and those who care for them, he strongly identifies with the mission of Insight Memory Care Center.
Joel joined IMCC in 2012 and during his tenure has led the organization to rebrand from Alzheimer’s Family Day Center to Insight Memory Care Center. Along with the Board of Directors, Joel was responsible for the strategic expansion of the center, program, and service offerings, during which the center maintained its exceptional care of participants. Joel’s dedication to safety and compliance have led to consecutive deficiency free visits from the Virginia Department of Social Services, which earned their highest licensure designation. Joel has also spearheaded IMCC’s certification of the Music and Memory Program, the creation of a Multi-Sensory Environment, and has incorporated a more research and evidenced based person-centered care approach for our participants.
