Fairfax Location

The Mind and Body Workshop provides innovative interventions for families who have an early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or another memory impairment. The workshop is a 4 session program series for both the care partner and the early stage individual to participate, promoting social engagement and peer support, while adjusting to life with a new diagnosis.

Travelogue Session

This session will be offered weekly at Insight Memory Care Center - Fairfax from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. All participants will need to provide proof of vaccination before the first session. Each session will be limited to 8 couples, both to allow for social distancing, but the small group also fosters connection and allows everyone time to participate! Session activities include:

May 17
Group Activity: Wonders of the World
Breakout Sessions: Tips for Travel (Care Partners); Music from Around the World (Participants)

May 24
Group Activity: Walking and Balance Exercise
Breakout Sessions: Caring for Your Body: Sleep (Care Partners); Crafting your Dream Vacation (Participants)

May 31
Group Activity: City Artscape
Breakout Sessions: Assess your Stress (Care Partners); Iconic Landmarks (Participants)

June 7
Group Activity: My Favorite Trip
Breakout Sessions: Developing your Care Team (Care Partners); Discover the Blue Zones (Participants)

Registration is required; there is a short application and assessment process for the program to ensure a good fit for both the caregiver and early stage participant. Please contact Lindsey Vajpeyi with any questions or to register!
