Our Board

Mark Epstein

Mark H. Epstein has extensive executive management experience with nonprofit organizations, including more than 30 years as the executive director of international, national, and regional professional health membership associations. This experience includes 20 years as the executive secretary of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE), 12 years as executive director of the Society of Radiation Oncology, and 10 years as executive director of the National Association of Health Data Organizations. Prior to his association management career, Mark was a senior manager at the Health Systems Agency of Northern Virginia, a regional health planning agency, for 13 years. Mark retired in August 2019.

Mark has served on governing and advisory boards of several nonprofit and public organizations in Northern Virginia. He is a past president of The Ohio State University Alumni Club of DC. Mark was instrumental in establishing the Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, and the ISPE Emerging Leader Award. He currently volunteers his time and experience as a director on the Insight Memory Care Center Board, and with New Objectives LLC, an innovative consulting firm that provides confidential, pro bono counsel to chief executives of associations & professional societies.

Mark received his Doctor of Science degree in health policy and planning from Johns Hopkins University. The International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology awarded Mark its Distinguished Service Award.
