Sarah is the Director of Financial Planning at Cassaday & Company, Inc. and has been with the firm since 2014. As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Sarah works directly with the firm’s financial advisory team to develop comprehensive strategies to help meet client’s individualized planning needs and deliver integrated and holistic advice. While Sarah works with clients in all aspects of their financial plan, she specializes in helping with estate and legacy planning, tax management, education planning strategies and proactive planning on the topics of aging and dementia. She also manages the training and development of Cassaday & Company, Inc.’s future generation of financial planners.
Sarah brings over 15 years of experience in the financial planning and investment management industry to the firm, working with high net worth professionals, business owners and retirees. Prior to joining Cassaday & Company, she was a financial advisor for a wealth management firm in the D.C. metro area and also spent many years with an investment advisory firm in Richmond, Virginia. She is currently not registered with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc. or Cassaday & Company.
Sarah is a Certified Estate and Trust Specialist™ (CES™), achieved through the Institute of Business and Finance. She is also a Certified College Planning Specialist™ (CCPS®) and Education Loan Specialist (ELA™) through the National Institute of Certified College Planners. Sarah has been quoted in the media by prominent industry publications such as Financial Advisor Magazine, and participates in public speaking engagements to share her expertise. Barron’s Magazine, a prominent industry publication, sponsored Sarah to speak to the nation’s top advisors on the importance of sound financial planning in 2017.
Sarah is a member of the Financial Planning Association of the National Capital Area, as well as the Association of Certified College Planning Specialists®. Sarah volunteers her time and expertise on the Board of Directors for Insight Memory Care Center, a nonprofit adult day health and resource center in Fairfax, Virginia, which provides specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairments, as well as support and education for their families, caregivers, and the community. Sarah graduated with a degree in Financial Planning from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), and is actively involved with the National Capital Region Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.
Sarah currently lives in Fairfax, Virginia with her husband David and in her free time enjoys teaching barre-based fitness classes as a certified instructor.
