Inclement Weather Policy
Posted on 01/24/2017
For those of you with a loved one attending our programs, we just wanted to remind you of our Inclement Weather Policy.
Insight Memory Care Center follows Fairfax County Public Schools for weather related closures. When Fairfax County schools are closed because of inclement weather, Insight Memory Care Center will be closed.
However, if Fairfax County schools have a late opening, IMCC will open on time. If a severe storm develops during the Center’s hours, the Executive Director may decide to close early, in which case you will be notified to pick up your family member.
Insight Memory Care Center will make our best effort to update our phone message, and website, and send an email in the event of a closure.
We still encourage you to check school closure announcements. School closings are broadcasted on all major TV networks, radio, and on the Fairfax County Public School website, at fcps.edu. Additionally, you can sign up for alerts through Fairfax County Public Schools’ News You Choose system to be notified of any closings directly by email or text message. Visit www.fcps.edu for more information.
Please note that Insight does not follow all Fairfax County Public School holidays. If inclement weather develops on a day that the schools are already scheduled to be closed, Insight will notify families through our phone message, website, and emails.
We will not call individual families for a closure unless specifically requested.
Please note that if Fairfax County schools open late, Fastran buses DO NOT run. Please make other transportation plans if your loved one uses Fastran.
Above all else, we want you and your loved one to be safe. If you are not comfortable bringing your loved one on a day that we are open, please call the center to let us know.
