Sarah Mouser

Sarah Mouser, CFP®, CDFA®, CES™, CTS™, CCFS®, ELA™ is the Managing Director of Financial Planning at Verdence Capital Advisors. As a key member of the firm’s strategic leadership, she collaborates with the advisory team to design and implement tailored planning strategies, and proactive planning for aging and dementia-related concerns. She holds the Certified Estate and Trust Specialist™ (CES™) and Certified Tax Specialist™ (CTS™) designations from the Institute of Business & Finance.
A recognized voice in the industry, Sarah is frequently quoted in financial publications and invited to speak on wealth planning and thought leadership topics. strategies that align with client’s unique needs. She helps Verdence stay at the forefront of financial planning by integrating technology and holistic solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Sarah also leads the firm’s training and mentorship programs, fostering career development for future financial professionals.
With over 20 years of experience in financial planning and investment management, Sarah specializes in estate and legacy planning, tax management, education.
Sarah’s passion extends beyond her work at Verdence. She volunteers her time and expertise on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit specializing in care needs for individuals with dementia. Sarah is also an inaugural member of Virginia Tech's Financial Planning and Wealth Management major's Advisory Board serving on the Workforce Development Committee as the Career Preparation Director.
Sarah brings over 17 years of experience in the financial planning and investment management industry to the firm, working with high net worth professionals, business owners, and retirees. Having extensive experience in tax preparation, Sarah is also a Certified Tax Specialist™ as well as a Certified Estate and Trust Specialist™ (CES™), both achieved through the Institute of Business and Finance.

Sarah is a member of the Financial Planning Association of the National Capital Area, as well as the Association of Certified College Funding Specialists® and National Institute of Certified College Planners®. She graduated with a degree in financial planning from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), and is actively involved with the National Capital Region Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association. Sarah currently lives in Fairfax, Virginia with her husband David.
