Receiving a diagnosis of dementia, or having a loved one diagnosed, can cause a range of emotions, from shock to relief. But what happens next?
Turning Personal Experience into Purpose
Sara’s connection to Alzheimer’s advocacy began as a child, as a loved one lived with the disease. Experiencing the challenges dementia brings to individuals and families inspired her to become involved in raising awareness and supporting others navigating similar journeys.
By combining her love of music and running with advocacy efforts, Sara has found meaningful ways to make an impact in the community. As a violinist, Sara understands the comfort and connection music can bring to individuals living with dementia. Familiar melodies can spark memories, encourage emotional engagement, and create moments of peace and joy. She is committed to using music to foster meaningful connections and uplifting experiences for Insight participants and their families. In addition to her passion for music, Sara is dedicated to community wellness and Alzheimer’s awareness through running and fundraising events. She believes charity walks, runs, and community gatherings not only raise critical funds and awareness, but also foster connection and support for caregivers and families affected by dementia.
For Sara, every performance, fundraiser, and volunteer opportunity is a chance to bring hope, compassion, and encouragement to others.

Insight is incredibly grateful to Sara and Tune and Run to End Alzheimer’s for their continued generosity and commitment to supporting individuals and families living with dementia. We look forward to having Sara volunteer with our participants and families and share her talents with the Insight community in the coming months.
