Mind and Body Workshop

The Mind and Body Workshop provides innovative interventions for families who have an early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or another memory impairment. The workshop is a 3 session program series for both the care partner and the early stage individual to participate, promoting social engagement and peer support, while adjusting to life with a new diagnosis.

June Session

This session will be offered weekly at the Ashleigh at Lansdowne from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. All participants will need to provide proof of vaccination before the first session. Each session will be limited to 8 couples, both to allow for social distancing, but the small group also fosters connection and allows everyone time to participate! Session activities include:

June 2
Group Activity: Brain Health as we Age
Breakout Sessions: Dementia 101 (Care Partners); Music & Memory (Participants)

June 9
Group Activity: About Us Collages
Breakout Sessions: Making the Most of a Doctor Visit (Care Partners); Move Your Body! (Participants)

June 16
Group Activity: Developing Connections
Breakout Sessions: Steps after Diagnosis (Care Partners); The Act of Journaling (Participants)

Registration is required; there is a short application and assessment process for the program to ensure a good fit for both the caregiver and early stage participant. Please contact Lindsey Vajpeyi with any questions or to register!

Cost for the full workshop session for both participants is $250.
