About the Speaker:
Dr. Murali Doraiswamy is a Professor of Psychiatry and Geriatrics as well as Director of the Neurocognitive Disorders Program in the Department of Psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center who has devoted the last twenty years of his career to clinical care, research and education in the field of dementia. He is a Senior Fellow at the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and directs a leading clinical trials unit at Duke that has been involved with the development of all the treatments used today for Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Doraiswamy serves as an Alzheimer’s advisor to Men’s Health magazine and AARP Magazine and serves on the healthcare panel of experts for The Wall Street Journal. He has been an advisor to leading businesses, advocacy groups and government agencies, and serves as the Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Brain Research. He is the coauthor of more than 300 scientific publications and his research has been featured widely in media outlets such as the Dr. Oz Show, Oprah, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time, NPR and CBS News. He is the co-author of a popular book The Alzheimer’s Action Plan.
