Laura Smothers-Chu is the CEO & Founder of Befriended Heart, LLC, a for-purpose business that specializes in empowering long-distance caregivers of dementia. As a long-distance daughter for 7 years, Laura understands firsthand the struggles caregivers face when caring for their parents from afar. With a 10+ year career in healthcare, Laura is Certified to Advise Elders (CSA®), she’s a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP®), and she hosts a YouTube channel called Joy in Dementia. Laura lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband, and rescue dog + cat, and delights in working with clients from all over the country.
