Plan for the Future
Receiving a diagnosis of dementia, or having a loved one diagnosed, can cause a range of emotions, from shock to relief. But what happens next? We’ve put together a simple checklist of things for you to consider as you begin your journey.
Your family works together through this 5 week program to create a plan for future needs. As one caregiver shared of the experience, "The SHARE program with you was by far the best and most important thing we did for our family."
Stay Engaged - Early Stage Programs
Reconnections is an in-person gathering of individuals who have been recently diagnosed with a memory loss disorder. Together with professional staff, a small group of club members participate in individualized discussion groups, recreational therapies, learning experiences, and all have the opportunity for peer support and to socialize in a safe, non-judgmental setting.
The Mind & Body Workshop provides innovative interventions for families who have an early diagnosis of MCI or another cognitive impairment. The workshop is a multi-session program series for both the early stage individual and care partner to participate together. Using activities that promote brain health, creative expression, movement, and well-being, the sessions help both parties adjust to and live well with memory loss.
This group is specifically designed for care partners whose loved one has received a recent diagnosis of dementia or is in the early stages of the disease. Get to know other families who are in a similar situation, while also learning caregiving tips and sharing personal concerns and successes.
The café is an opportunity for caregivers and their loved one to meet with others for support, companionship, and fun! The program provides structured activities to promote reminiscence, cognition, and engagement. There is also time to share in conversation and get to know others in a safe, supportive environment. Come join us!

"We participate in as many educational, support and social activities as possible which have given us hope, knowledge, strength, and friendships. So many wonderful activities help us navigate through a very challenging time in our lives. I really don't think I could keep my husband at home if it weren't for IMCC."
