At the start of the pandemic, we had a participant that tried out virtual activity programs. Following along and tracking everyone on the screen was a little difficult. But rather than miss out, staff set up one-on-one calls to check in and provide engagement from home.
During one of these one-on-one calls, I mentioned that I had found a very bouncy ball at a CVS called a “Moon Ball” because I knew he loved all things related to the moon. Much to my surprise, a few hours later I received this lovely picture. Here he is stilling on his “toilet paper throne” - because we had to stock up then! - and holding a “Moon Ball.”
Even when we're not together in person, these are the connections we value.
