Linda and Lou Mazawey Education and Support Center, 3955 Pender Drive, Suite 100, Fairfax, VA 22030

Join us for a “roadtrip” through the difficult and often taboo topics of dementia care, including taking away the keys, incontinence, wandering, and tips for travel.

This program will be presented by Colleen Walker, Executive Director at Brookdale Senior Living. Colleen is a 20 year veteran within the long term care industry. As a Certified Memory Impairment Specialist, she has worked with companies such as The Veteran’s Administration, HCR-ManorCare, Sun West Management, The Alzheimer’s Association, and Brookdale Senior Living, to develop, train and implement services and programs to meet the special needs of those with cognitive impairment. Colleen uses her own vast personal experiences, mixed with compassion and humor in her trainings for professional and family caregivers.

This program is a part of our ongoing Classes for Caregivers series. All sessions are FREE, and held the third Wednesday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Respite care may be available by request; please notify us when registering to confirm availability.

"I like the people, the programs, the support, the knowledge I gained as caregiver. That my wife flourished (and was improving, I thought) while she participated."
